Community Technical Assistance Forestry Contact Drew Todd, 614-265-6707. Organizational and technical assistance offered to communities to help develop comprehensive tree care programs. Service delivered by six urban forests located throughout the state.
Dam Safety Awareness Workshops Water Contact 614-265-6731. Assistance for owners of dams and professionals in dam safety field on preparation of emergency action plans, operation and maintenance, legal liability and responsibility, watershed hydrology and spillway hydraulics.
Earth Science Information Center (ESIC) REALM Contact the Ohio Department of Transportation at 614-275-1389 for aerial photography maps.
Environmental Compliance REALM Department-wide review of projects requiring federal National Environmental Policy Act compliance. Determines concurrence of projects in coastal area, regulation of Coastal Erosion Area, and environmental consultation services for other DNR divisions.
Flood Loss Reduction Workshops Water Contact Christopher Thoms, 614-265-6752. Education on local responsibilities for strong local floodplain management through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). For floodplain administrators, local politicians, consultants, lenders, realtors, and citizens. Conducted by the Floodplain Management Program for NFIP per annual federal-state cooperative agreement.
Manure & Nutrient Management Soil Contact Tammie Brown, 614-265-6684. Training, career development and demonstrations to address manure pollution problem areas identified by SWCDs. Grants available to and through SWCDs.
Natural Heritage Database Nat. Areas Contact Natural Areas & Preserves, 614-265-6453. Over 13,000 records representing known locations of Ohio's rare plants and animals, high quality plant communities and other natural features. Information is used in the department's environmental review process and provided to consulting firms, federal, state, and local government agencies, conservation groups and private citizens.
Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Soil Contact Jill Evans, 614-265-6637. Development of statewide strategies and programs for controlling polluted runoff and protecting water resources.
Ohio Stream Management Guides/Stream Team Water These guides provide information on a variety of watershed and stream management issues and methods.
Division Grant Programs Recycling Contact 614-265-6333. The division offers the Recycle, Ohio! Grant and the Recycling Market Development Grant to counties, solid waste districts (SWDs), and cities with populations of 50,000 or greater. The Focus Grant is offered to townships, villages, cities, counties, and solid waste management districts. The purpose of the grants program is to implement statewide solid waste reduction, recycling, recycling market development, and litter prevention programs. Each year the division awards approximately $7.5 million to over 100 grant communities.
Resource Analysis REALM Contact Wayne Channell, 614-265-6778. Geographic information system (GIS) for natural resource data. Assists county government in capturing soil, land use, land cover, floodplain, ground water, and other resource data in digital format. Composite resource maps used locally for land use planning, development reviews, and resource management decisions. Digital data and map products provided to county auditors to help implement state's preferential tax program for agricultural lands. Continuing Assistance Program provides post project assistance for additional maps and/or digital data for county officials.
Service Forestry Landowner Assistance Forestry Contact Dan Kincaid, 614-265-6706. Planning and technical forestry assistance to private landowners to help manage forest resources. Assistance provided by 18 service foresters throughout the state.
Stream Management Technical Assistance Soil Contact Dan Mecklenburg, 614-265-6639 or Nancy Seger, 614-265-6670. Technical and engineering assistance in the evaluation and design of stream restoration practices and projects.
Urban Sediment and Stormwater Management Assistance Soil Contact John Mathews, 614-265-6685. Technical assistance in the design of local erosion and watershed protection programs and urban stream protection projects.
Wetlands Reserve Wildlife In cooperation with U.S. Department of Agriculture, technical and other assistance is available to landowners for the conservation of wetlands. Contact David Risley, 614-265-6331.
Wildlife Habitat Incentives Wildlife Technical assistance and resources are available to private landowners to help improve wildlife habitat in rural Ohio. Contact District Wildlife biologist, 614-644-3925.

Witness of Oil & Gas Well Plugging Activities Mineral Resources Contact the Mineral Resource inspector listed on the plugging permit or a division regional field office.
