Limited planning assistance may be available in the development of local water supply sources, especially with regard to needs and alternatives assessment. Information is provided to communities regarding area water resource availability, community water use estimates and projections, and agency contacts.
Drought response planning and assistance in obtaining emergency community water supplies during drought periods are also available. Drought response activities in Ohio are coordinated by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA). The Division of Water supports the OEMA by providing planning assistance to communities in developing drought contingency plans, in assessing drought conditions, and in coordinating requests from communities for assistance in obtaining emergency water allocations.
